Check out our latest contribution describing the morphology and phylogeny of novel anaerobic fungal species isolated at UCSB. These isolates from animal poop are prolific degraders of untreated biomass and were recently cited by Forbes magazine as having the potential to "help developing countries attain prosperity without turning to coal and oil for their energy, fuels and materials made from petroleum."
